Villa Rosa dei Venti - Tuscany

Wine and Grape Harvest

Wine and Grape Harvest

Grape ripening and harvest range from mid-September to end October. The climate is continental, with very low temperatures beneath 4-5 °C in the winter and dry summers sometimes marked by temperatures over 30 °C. Rainfalls total about 800-900 mm and mainly occur in late autumn and spring. During the day temperature ranges may significantly vary. Both the production process and the quality based both on agronomic care in the vineyard and on the growing techniques are strictly controlled until the culminating point of the grape harvest corresponding to a careful and rigorous selection of the grapes.

All procedures aiming to reach quality continue in the transformation and the wine-making processes. The refining process of one type of wine takes place in the barriquerie. As it was in the past, the barriques require some ideal conditions as far as temperature and ventilation are concerned, so as to let great red wines mature. Every year the Villa "Rosa dei Venti" produces three types of wine, for a total amount of 5000 bottles, reserved for the guests of the holiday farm.
