Cooking classes
Locanda della Luna is a new location on the ground floor, created for our cooking classes, with professional kitchen and a large dinning room with the fireplace. This building has the same architectonic characteristic of the main Villa and of the Tuscany tradition.
We are going to use this location for the cooking classes requested from our guest (at the moment of reservation). Also we can rent this location for any chef who is looking for a special place to arrange his own cooking classes in Tuscany with his attendants.
Learn the basic Italian cooking techniques to prepare 4 Italian dinners dishes. You will make Anti pasti's including Crostini's & Bruschetta. Also Minestra di pane and Pasta the authentic way with typical Tuscan fillings and delicious sauces.
In addition, you will learn to make “Coniglio in umido alla toscana” or Coniglio, pollo and anatra in our wood-burning oven or Tagliata with green pepper sauce and baked vegetables and much, much, more. Dessert will include one of the Tuscan pastry specialities.
The Italian cookery course is conducted by Barbara and her mother Ornella who will teach you to cook 4 splendid Italian dishes in an informal environment where you will learn the passion of the Italian kitchen and have fun doing at the same time.
All of the animals you will use are raised by Rino (Barbara's father) and all dishes are “tasted” by Stefano (Barbara's brother).
Both Barbara and Ornella believe that the only way to learn to cook is to do it yourself. While they will demonstrate the techniques, be prepared to roll up your sleeves and put what you have learned into practice. The cooking lesson is only available during the week. Also, if you like you can buy a cookbook “Cooking Secrets of a Tuscan Family” Edit by Barbara Micheli www.tuscanycookingsecrets.com, including recipes of all the dishes made during your lesson.
Both Barbara and Ornella have chosen dishes that you can easily make again using ingredients that you can generally find back home. Barbara will help you learn to cook splendid Italian 4 course dinners, and will teach you all the basic Italian cooking techniques, from pasta to pastries and everything in-between.
The cooking lessons are given in the “Locanda della Luna” at Villa Rosa dei Venti. All of the ingredients you will use are purchased each morning from local markets or they are picked from the kitchen garden and so you will learn to cook with vegetables in season. Throughout your time at culinary school you will learn about the ingredients and the traditions surrounding each of the dishes prepared. During the cooking lesson we'll do a break and we'll taste our wine.
The cooking lesson starts about 10:00 pm and finishes about 1:00 pm and is followed by lunch.
On request at the moment of the reservation.
For more details and information about prices ask Barbara and/or Stefano.
